Moon Shot: An area story about life on Earth

Proper now, sixteen personal groups from all over the world are in a race to the moon. They’re in a $30 million competitors referred to as the Google Lunar XPRIZE (GLXP), which challenges groups to design and construct a rover, land it on the floor of the moon, drive it 500 meters throughout the lunar panorama, and ship HD video and imagery again to Earth by the top of 2017. And shortly, you’ll study their tales in a brand new digital documentary collection from Google, Academy Award®-nominated director Orlando von Einsiedel, Government Producer J.J. Abrams, Dangerous Robotic, and Epic Digital.

The GLXP competitors, which began in 2007, goals to kick off a brand new period of area exploration by enabling low-value and environment friendly entry to the moon. Not solely is the moon our closest neighbor in area, it is also the gateway to exploring the remainder of the universe—and supplies alternatives for discovery within the fields of science, know-how, and human habitation.

The groups within the competitors come from all walks of life, from Silicon Valley tech specialists, to hackers in Germany, to IT specialists in India, to a father and son understanding of their their Vancouver house. In a collection of 9 digital documentaries, Moon Shot goes behind the scenes with every workforce, bringing to life their challenges, sacrifices, quirks, and most significantly, the explanation why they’re making the 238,900 mile journey to the moon.
