Move over, Tyra Banks. If you want to make it in cutthroat world of modeling these days, you’d be better off working on your social media skills than “smizing.”

That’s the philosophy that’s driving two new modeling divisions: Kitten, from Galore Media and One.1K, from One Management. The two multimedia agencies already blend model management with branding and promotional work, from major fashion labels to brands like Absolut Vodka and Beats Audio.

“We are moving towards a place where companies are going to be casting models based around what their personalities are, and what they represent, not just how they look,” Galore founders Prince Chenoa and Jacob Dekat told Fashionista. “Kitten is definitely about ‘bombshells,’ but it’s also celebrating all of these girls who are creative and doing different things whether it be art, sports or music.”

In an announcement on Galore, Dekat also noted that forming Kitten offers an platform to “get behind and connect the girls we sign to bigger opportunities that include both digital and traditional campaigns.”

The two divisions will be partnering for Kitten’s initial launch with 10 super-social women with Instagram followings from 22,000 to over one million.
