Facebook continued its ongoing efforts to help media companies and publishers use its platform with Tuesday’s launch of Facebook Media, a new site geared specifically toward public figures, organizations and media companies. People can comb through success stories and learn how to best use products such as Facebook Mentions or videos. Even the Big Guys Struggle to Measure ROI (Adweek)

Almost every company puts much money and effort behind social media strategy, with goals ranging from enhanced brand awareness to direct leads or sales. But while 97 percent of those surveyed said they use some form of social media marketing, only 37 percent reported being able to measure ROI — and this problem extends to even the largest marketers, 78 percent of whom said they struggle with this measurement.

The dashboard will also provide real-time analytics to measure activity.

Facebook is working on a new app code-named “Moments” that will allow small groups of trusted friends or family to securely share content. The new product has been fully baked and is now being tested internally by Facebook employees, TechCrunch reports.

Almost nine in 10 of Twitter’s active users are located outside the United States, reports GlobalWebIndex. In its last quarterly report Twitter revealed that it had 271 million active users, and that 211 million of these were non-U.S. This equates to 77 percent, slightly less than GlobalWebIndex’s 87 percent estimate.
