Wedding Pic Found at Ground Zero Finds Home 13 Years Later (USA Today)

Every year on Sept. 11, Elizabeth Stringer Keefe posted the same photo on social media: a wedding photo found in the rubble of the World Trade Center after the 9/11 attacks. For 13 years, she’s been searching for the people in the photo. This year, her search came to an end. Today Keefe found herself in possession of the photo just a few weeks after Sept. 11, 2001, while visiting a friend in Manhattan. Keefe’s friend who found the photo at Ground Zero was moving to California, and passed it along to Keefe, asking her to “do something meaningful with it.” And so every year, Keefe brought the photo out, to share on social media, asking if anyone knew the bride with the yellow roses, the groom with the white bow tie, or the people in attendance. ABC News Fred Mahe, a groomsmen in the photo, contacted Stringer Keefe on Friday after a coworker sent him a story about the photo. Mahe identified the couple as Christine and Christian Loretto, college friends of his who were married in Aspen, Colo. He said they now live in California. Daily Mail Friday Keefe was finally successful after her tweet was re-posted 35,000 times, and after Mahe saw it, he sent Stringer Keefe a message on LinkedIn. “Attention wonderful world: ALL SIX PEOPLE ARE ALIVE AND WELL AND I HAVE JUST SPOKEN TO ONE OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!! #Happyending #911photo,” Keefe tweeted. New York Daily News To Mahe it was especially meaningful the mystery was solved on Sept. 12, a day he has cherished since witnessing the immediate aftermath of the terror attacks. “We saw the worst of humanity on 9/11,” he said. “But on 9/12 we saw the best of humanity. Elizabeth embodies that.”

I don’t have a Ph.D., I don’t work in a lab, and I don’t work with chemicals. I work in social media, and to succeed in this market you must think like a scientist. In today’s market, social media is no longer simply about Facebook “Likes” and tweets; rather it is a key tool for a business, and has become a science for many brands to study and become experts in.
