Whisper Staffers Suspended Amid Controversy


The Whisper saga continues. After The Guardian revealed a report on Whisper’s alleged data-tracking activities and Whisper staffers denied all of the allegations, Whisper CEO Michael Heyward has suspended some editorial staffers. Whisper editor-in-chief Neetzan Zimmerman is amongst these suspended, reports Recode.


A few of the firm’s preliminary denials have been referred to as into query by the suspension and inner investigation that Whisper is now conducting. After Senator Jay Rockefeller wrote a letter summoning Heyward to a briefing on privateness points, The Guardian published an inventory of of 10 questions that the corporate ought to handle.


In a response to these questions, Heyward addressed Zimmerman’s assertions that The Guardian made up quotes and tales in its report:
