Users with smartphones are never very far away from them — even when they’re in the bathroom. According to an infographic from The Reader’s Edge, consumers admitted to frequently using their phones in the bathroom for reading and a host of other reasons.
Seventy-five percent of Americans surveyed admitted to bringing their phones into the bathroom with them, with 24 percent of those users agreeing with the statement “I don’t go to the bathroom without my mobile phone.” However, 63 percent of survey respondents still read magazines, books and newspapers, so you’re not guaranteed to catch someone at the wrong moment if you call.
Apparently, powder room mobile users do a great deal on their phones. Sixty-seven percent of respondents answer text messages, 63 percent would take a phone call and 42 percent read their emails. Surprisingly, only 29 percent of potty posters used social media on their trips to the loo. It seems that the bathroom is a place for more important things than Twitter. In fact, 86 percent of men said they do most of their reading in the bathroom.
